Scuba diving has been a part of my life since I was 15 (which is the youngest age for new BSAC divers in the UK - believe me, I would have started way younger if I could have). Now in my late 30s, that means I’ve been diving for over half my lifetime. I’ve always been drawn to the underwater world, so as soon as I was old enough, I gained a degree in Marine Biology and dedicated my life to researching and conserving the marine environment.

All that to say, my life revolves around the ocean and the creatures in it. I’ve dived in many many countries around the world - warm water and cold water - worked with many marine organisms, experienced many different dive centres, and have a lot of insight and passion to offer to you.

I learnt to dive in a drysuit in the cold UK waters in 2002, earning my first BSAC Ocean Diver certification. I then went on to earn Sports Diver (2004) and Dive Leader certs (2007). Later, in 2015, I switched to the PADI system and earnt my PADI Divemaster certification whilst working in sea turtle research in the Bahamas. During a random stint living in Manitoba, Canada (possibly the farthest point from the ocean in Canada), I worked at a dive shop and completed the IDC, becoming PADI Instructor certified in 2016. Since then, I did some Instructor and guiding work at a couple of dive shops in British Columbia, Canada.

I currently dive every day for my job as a coral restoration diver, and have 800+ dives.

I also have AIDA 2 certification after spending a month in Dahab doing freedive training and fun dives. I plan to continue my freedive training and certifications, so you can follow along for that journey!
